Falling in love again

While we were at Disneyland, Josh and I found Snow White's wishing well. It's tucked away in a quiet corner and is beautiful. There are statues of Snow White and the seven dwarfs, and a well where many come to throw their pennies and make a special wish. I did that same thing last year when I was visiting Disneyland with my sister and her family. I used all my pennies and made a special wish that I fervently hoped would come true. A wish made at Disneyland always comes true, right?

Well, this one did not and I am so grateful that my life worked out differently from what I thought would be best. For many years I had been wishing and praying to find a man to love and who would love me back. The wish I made that day also included a specific person. As you all know, my wish to find love came true later that year. But it was with someone different than I had wished for.

Josh was a friend from church who I had never thought of romantically until we started texting and I got to know him. I fell quickly and completely in love and was scared that the relationship would end and my heart would be broken as it had been so many times before.

Thank goodness Heavenly Father knew what was best for me and blessed me with a wonderful man to marry and be with forever! Forever doesn't seem long enough to be with Josh, but I can't wait to have that time to be with him!

I feel like Sleeping Beauty, who slept until awakened by true love's kiss. I waited for many years and was in essence "asleep" until I found my handsome prince and was "awakened" by true love's kiss.

What a magical place to fall in love with my husband all over again!

Disneyland

This week we've been on vacation. Josh had never been to Disneyland, so we decided to go with my brother and sister-in-law. We flew to California on Monday and early that morning, at around 2:30am, I woke up because Josh was restless. When I asked if he was okay he said, "I'm too excited to sleep." What a cutie!

Josh was just like a little boy when we got to the airport. He made sure we had a seat next to the window so he could watch the planes land and take-off. The grin on his face was priceless! I almost asked the pilot if I could get him a set of airplane wings.

On Tuesday we met up with Paul and Kelci and took Disneyland by storm. Paul is a Disneyland junkie and could go from sun-up to sun-down without a break. We followed him from ride to ride and had a blast! Included in the list were: space mountain, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the haunted mansion. Eventually we made my brother stop and eat lunch. We went to ESPNZone and sat on the recliners. Now Josh wants dining recliners in our house.

After our break, we headed to California Adventures and enjoyed the rides there. Kelci and I petered out around 6 and went back to the hotel, but our guys stayed until the park closed. When they came back, they shared stories of their "gay" experience. When they were on the Matterhorn, they were having problems getting the seat belt done up because they both sat in the same seat, and the attendant said, "I've had bigger couples than you fit before." And when they were in another line, they were talking with a lady about Josh's shirt. He said that his wife had gotten it for him and she looks straight at Paul and says "you have good taste." How funny is that!

Wednesday we again had fun at the two Disneyland parks. Josh and I took it slow for the first little while, finding Snow White's wishing well and walking through Sleeping Beauty's castle. We also went on it's a small world and some of the cute little kid rides that Paul wouldn't even think of going on. We met up and continued until the end of the day enjoying more rides and attractions. Josh enjoyed his first time at Disneyland and likes Splash Mountain the best. We rode it three times that day and got absolutely soaked.

Josh found that when he sat up front and moved all of his weight as far forward as possible, he got everyone soaked. He absolutely loved it!

Sleepover

Last night, our nephews slept over. Payton and Maclain are the cutest little troublemakers! Payton is 4 and Maclain is 2. It was a fun, but pretty sleepless night. Their parents brought them to our apartment around 5:30 and we ordered pizza for dinner. While we ate we watched The Simpsons Movie. It is Payton's favorite movie and he especially likes the spider pig part.

After eating, we took the boys to the park and they played to their hearts' content. I even had fun scooting through one of the tunnels!

Payton played tag with some other kids who were there and kept saying, "I'll get you, you peanut heads!"

We had the boys on a blow-up mattress in the front room, and my big boy (Josh) fell asleep before the little boys did. They finally fell asleep around 11:00, which was after watching two episodes of SpongeBob, receiving back rubs, and hearing several stories. Maclain slept through the night, but Payton woke up every few hours and had a hard time falling back to sleep. They both woke up at 6:30 and there was no more sleeping for anyone but Josh who had moved into our bedroom. I think Payton missed his parents, because one of the first questions he asked this morning was when they could go home. They were back home at 9:30 this morning, and Maclain fell asleep in the car about 5 minutes before we got there.

Josh has two words to describe this little adventure: birth control. The first thing he said when he woke up this morning was, "I don't want kids right now!"

Photobucket

Hello friends, welcome to our blog! Being this is our first post, we don't expect you to stay very long, so don't let the door hit you on the way out. :) But if you'd like to continue visiting, we'll bring you the exciting adventures of Joshua and Rachael.

Our family started in December of 2008 after only 3 and a half months of dating. We met in the good old singles ward and first got to know each other through texts. After our first date, we spent every weekend together and were engaged after 5 weeks. We got married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17th and will soon celebrate our 5 month anniversary.
